ANA PAZ

Ana Paz has been part of the LIVE! community since her youth. First joining us at Movies on the Green in 2007—our inaugural student band performance—Ana has grown from a budding musician into a soulful beacon of artistry. Her deep connection to our school led her to eventually become part of LIVE! as a thoughtful mentor and guide for the next generation of artists.

Artistry, Evolution & Creative Process

  • Ana’s presence is described as truly soulful—graceful, insightful, and captivating from the very start. Her voice and writing carry a profound sense of peace that matches her name.

  • She candidly shares the evolution of her stage presence: the early shows were nerve-wracking, but over time, she found her rhythm, embraced imperfections, and discovered joy in the unpredictability of live performance.

  • A believer in community, Ana overcame her natural independence to allow herself to connect deeply with Miami’s arts scene. She emphasizes that vulnerability and being seen by fellow artists offered powerful motivation and growth.

  • Songwriting is Ana’s greatest joy. She often begins with melodies or chord ideas, using tools like the Spire app to record voice memos on the go—especially while commuting as a passenger, when creative ideas tend to flow most freely.

Highlights & Notable Collaborations

  • In December 2023, Ana released Despiadado Corazón, her alt-pop–bossa collaboration with CES. The track channels themes of heartbreak and acceptance, brought to life through a richly collaborative music video featuring local dancers, visual artists, and a distinctive character named SPKTR, whose costume was crafted by a Miami designer.

  • In 2023, she contributed to a live recording with Munir Hossn at The Blackroom Sessions—a partnership that reaffirmed her growth as an artist and the supportiveness of her creative community.

  • Ana is also a multi-instrumentalist and mentor, remaining deeply involved with LIVE! as part of the teaching community over the years.

  • Her artistry was further recognized with the 2024 Miami Individual Artist Grant, which supports her debut EP, surrender—a deeply emotional 3-song collection exploring grief, longing, and memory, enriched by looping arrangements, vocal harmonies, and polyrhythmic textures.
