The Creative Music Industry program at LIVE! School of Music offers a comprehensive learning experience that includes weekly private lessons, Rockschool® curriculum, ensembles, recording and production, composition, RSL Certificate or Diploma, performances, and access to our digital learning platform.

The Creative Music Industry (CMI) curriculum at LIVE! School of Music offers a comprehensive and progressive learning experience for students at various skill levels, designed to nurture practical musicianship, audio, and composition skills.
The curriculum covers instrumental techniques, music sequencing, and production classes. With a strong focus on reinforcing practical skills essential for success in the music industry, the CMI program provides students with a well-rounded understanding of various aspects of the creative music field.
Through personalized private lessons, engaging ensembles, and hands-on learning experiences, students will develop the expertise and confidence needed to thrive in their musical careers. LEVEL 1: Ages 9-11
CMI Units
Intro to Rehearsing & Performing: Learning the foundations of musical delivery.
Rehearsal Process: Understanding the team’s purpose and repertoire selection.
Music Production & Musicianship: Exploring equipment, digital tech, and
musical structures.
Rehearsal Communication & Prep: Mastering stage presence and developing
effective teamwork dynamics.
Live Performance & Feedback: From logistics, show production, and performance to feedback-driven growth.
LEVEL 2: Ages 11-15
CMI Units:
Rehearsing Music: Students will develop ensemble skills and performance techniques in this unit. They will work with fellow musicians to rehearse and perform a variety of musical pieces, honing their abilities to work as a team and deliver captivating performances.
Practical Musicianship: This unit enhances students' music theory knowledge, ear training, and sight-singing abilities. Students will become more confident and versatile musicians by developing a solid foundation in musicianship skills.
Collaborative Composition: Students will delve into composition as a group endeavor. They will create original music pieces through collaborative efforts, fostering teamwork and unleashing their creative potential.
Practical Harmony: Learn the art of harmonies, chord progressions, and melodies. This unit allows students to apply their harmony knowledge to their compositions, adding depth and complexity to their creations and music production skills.
LEVEL 3: Ages 15-18

Module 1 CMI 302 Rehearsing Music & CMI 342 Practical Musicianship
In this module, students immerse themselves in music performance and practical musicianship. Through collaborative band rehearsals, they enhance technical prowess and musical communication skills. With a keen ear, they analyze musical elements across genres and apply their insights during ensemble practice. This module sets a solid foundation from mastering instruments to refining stage presence.
Module 2 CMI 344 Composing Lyrics & CMI 303 Performing Music Live
This module hones in on the art of songwriting and live performance. Students delve into lyric composition, expressing themselves through words that resonate deeply. Through live performances, they infuse life into their creations, captivating audiences with expressive delivery. This module cultivates their unique musical identity while fostering the skills necessary for a successful music career.
